U.S. General Services Administration Names Design-Build Institute of America to Authorized Federal Supply Schedule

Words: Bronzella Cleveland

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) has announced the award of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract # GS-02F-105BA on Schedule 84 for the seamless delivery of design-build training services to the U.S. government.

DBIA’s schedule award allows federal agencies, along with some state and local entities, to conveniently purchase DBIA’s Design-Build Done Right education and training services. GSA Federal Supply Schedules are open-ended, five-year contracts with negotiated products and services. DBIA completed a comprehensive review process in order to receive a GSA contract listing as a pre-approved GSA supplier.

DBIA is a long-established leader in providing quality training for the federal government. This new authorization allows DBIA to offer its training and experience even more widely through the Federal Supply Schedule for the benefit of the federal government. Prices have already been deemed fair and reasonable, and contracts are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, reducing evaluation cycles. Purchases can be made directly from a contractor’s GSA Schedule Contract, eliminating time-consuming responses to complex RFPs and lengthy negotiations. The GSA has negotiated the prices, services and terms covering DBIA’s training and professional development services under the program.

DBIA courses offered through the schedule are as follows:

  • BIM Planning for Design-Build
  • Certification Exam Preparation
  • Certification Workshop
  • Conceptual Estimating
  • Design-Build Contracts & Risk Management
  • Design Management Fundamentals
  • Fundamentals of Project Delivery
  • High-Performance Incentive Contracting
  • Owner Boot Camp – Federal Agency Acquisition Primer
  • Post-Award Design-Build
  • Principles of Design-Build Project Delivery
  • Super-Charged Source Selection
  • University Boot Camps
  • Customized Boot Camps and/or Workshops
  • As well as numerous online offerings

“We could not be more proud to become an authorized vendor on the GSA’s Federal Supply Schedule,” says Lisa Washington, CAE, executive director/CEO, DBIA. “This contract award supports DBIA’s long-standing commitment to help public agencies better understand project delivery options and, when choosing design-build, achieve best value while meeting cost, schedule and quality goals.”
